Site Energy
Solar & EV Charging

Helping customer-led businesses plan, design, procure and manage site energy infrastructure that lowers cost, increases resilience and supports electrification

Breathe Partners helps clients make better energy investment decisions, from site power strategy and solar feasibility through to EV charging, batteries, tendering, installation and ongoing operational support

Energy infrastructure is now a board-level business issue

Electricity is becoming more critical to business operations. Sites need more power for electric vehicles, heating, cooling, automation, production, logistics and customer facilities, while grid constraints, cost volatility and decarbonisation targets make energy planning more complex.

Breathe helps businesses understand their site energy position, identify commercially attractive opportunities and deliver practical infrastructure projects with clarity, control and confidence.

Our work is independent of suppliers, installers, technology providers and funders. We help clients define what they need, build the business case, tender the right solution and manage delivery through to business-as-usual operation.

Where we help

Site Energy Strategy
We assess your sites, power usage, future energy needs, grid constraints and business objectives to create a practical site energy plan.

EV Charging & Fleet Electrification
We support workplace, commercial, employee, public and fleet charging, from strategy and site design to installation, payment systems and operational management

Commercial Solar & Onsite Generation
We help clients assess, design, procure and deliver solar and onsite generation projects that make commercial sense.

Batteries, Load Management & BAU Support
We help clients understand where batteries, load balancing and managed operations can improve value, resilience and site power flexibility

Fixing unreliable EV charging estates

Our employee EV chargers were free-to-use, disconnected from proper management systems and regularly breaking down across the estate.

Breathe audited the estate, identified the key issues, proposed the required updates, implemented pay-to-charge and put a managed PPM plan in place so charging income helped cover electricity costs.

Prioritising solar across large estates

We had looked at solar across our estate, but with around 100 sites we did not know where to start or which locations were most attractive.

Breathe acted as an independent advisor, reviewed the estate, ranked the sites by solar attractiveness and created a practical roll-out plan, including surveys of the top 13 sites, expected costs, business cases and finance options.

Turning surveys into investable solar projects

We had several solar surveys, roof reports and technical inputs, but they were not connected into a clear project, business case or decision route.

Breathe brought the critical elements together, including site design, roof repair costs, project risks, business case options and finance routes, so the client could make an informed investment decision.

Using export power more intelligently

We were exporting too much power and wanted to understand how to use more of our generated electricity on site.

Breathe reviewed generation, demand and site operations, then identified options to increase self-consumption through solar optimisation, EV charging, load shifting and future energy storage opportunities.

Moving from gas to electricity

We needed to reduce reliance on gas, but the transition to electric heat and site electrification felt complex, expensive and difficult to prioritise.

Breathe reviewed the operational requirements, energy demand and electrical constraints, then created a phased transition plan linking heat, power, solar, EV charging and future grid capacity.

Improving EPC performance

We needed to improve EPC performance so the building could remain lettable, but we needed practical measures that made commercial sense.

Breathe reviewed the building, energy use and improvement options, then identified practical upgrades such as solar, controls, lighting, heating changes and EV charging to support compliance and asset value.

Designing site-wide EV charging

Our office block needed site-wide EV charging, but different users required different access rules, pricing structures and charging arrangements.

Breathe provided independent advice, designed the site-wide EV charging system and then supported the operation so different users, tariffs and access needs could be managed properly.

Protecting solar farm owners

The solar farm had safety, quality and compliance concerns, and the owner needed independent support to make sure the rebuild was done properly.

Breathe acted as the owner’s advisor, helping define the technical requirements, challenge the EPC, protect the owner’s interests and support a rebuild aligned to safety, quality and regulatory expectations.
