Why Electric Vehicle Charging

Enhance your business with electric vehicle (EV) charging

On the net-zero journey, electric is becoming king, nothing shows this more than the (necessary) rise in electric vehicle usage.

By 2030, EVs are expected to grow from 4 to 35% in the UK. The speed of change means that charging stations are imperative, and businesses can help answer this need while also supporting their core business growth.

Our Services

  • Design

We always design with our clients business needs in mind. We will review your sites and energy set up to develop a electric vehicle charging strategy meeting your business needs. We design efficient, scalable, and future-proof solutions seamlessly integrated into your energy ecosystem.

  • Install

When you have chosen which proposal to move forward with we will set up project/programmes to deliver. We will run the tender process, manage permissions and the installation ensuring it meets standards required. We have a staged process which allows you to be in control and know progress at all times.

  • Manage - CPO

Breathe Charging can then manage your chargers as a Charge Point Operator (CPO). Our simple, transparent, reliable operations allow you to have complete control of the chargers without the need for long-term contracts. For a nominal management fee you typically receive monthly updates on your chargers use, are able to set prices as you wish and keep all the additional revenue.

Why Vehicle Electrification

There are approximately 12 million business vehicles in the UK (including company cars leased by employees), which travel 160 billion miles annually. Interestingly, petrol and diesel engines are only about 25% to 30% efficient compared to electric vehicles, which are c.85% efficient. Thus, switching all business vehicles to electric would mean the total energy needed to fuel these vehicles would drop from 285 TWh to just 81 TWh

This Power saving is worth £30bn to UK businesses and their employees

That's the equivalent power required to operate 41,000 large 5GWh factories, or 100,000 large 2GWh distribution depots. The impact of this switch is also a 16% reduction in UK emissions, equivalent to a mountain of carbon 4km high and 5km wide, approximately the size of Mont Blanc, every year

In addition real world fleet data shows that maintenance costs are 20–30% lower for electric vehicles (because they are much simpler), adding £4bn of additional savings for businesses and their employees

Future Growth in Battery Operated Heavy Goods Vehicles

  • UK has targets to end the sale of non zero emission HGVs by 2040

  • Biggest challenge is the infrastructure to support this move and ensure commercial needs are still met

  • Working with partners to trial battery operated vehicles (BEV) in road freight in real life examples
